The Valley Ranch Elementary WRITE-A-CHECK CAMPAIGN KICKS OFF on October 1, 2016. This campaign is a fundraiser where the money raised stays at VRE and is not put into the district’s general fund.
Last year we raised $13,220.00. Our goal was $15,000.00. We have set this year’s goal for $15,000.00 again! Let’s see what we can do with your donations AND corporate matching funds!
Please be sure to check with your employer to see if they participate in matching funds; if they do, please complete the necessary paperwork to notify them that matching funds are being requested. Your donation is tax deductible and will fund technology, equipment or other resources needed to enrich our children’s learning at Valley Ranch Elementary.
Watch for more details as the kickoff date nears!!!

BoxTops for Education - Fall 2016 Drive!!
Published: Thu, Sep 1, 2016, 04:18PM CDT

We need boxtops! When do we need them? Now!

Dig through the kitchen drawers, peruse the pantry and call the grandparents — round up all your Box Tops and send them into school with your child in an envelope or plastic bag labeled with:
Your child’s name
Teacher’s name
Grade and class (i.e. K1, 5C, 3E)
Number of boxtops
The deadline for submissions is October 10, 2016.
Students who turn in baggies of 50 box tops or more will receive a spirit stick! They will get a spirit stick for each baggie of 50 turned in (until we run out of Box Top Spirit Sticks). Remember, this is only for box tops and not any of the other school point systems (such as Campbell’s soup can labels).
Did you know that Valley Ranch Elementary raised $834 in 2015-2016 school year through the Box Tops program? Clipping those little Box Tops really helps the school every year, so get busy clipping!
Also, please Register on the BoxTops website. Our school’s id is 406338. For every email registered, the school gets 5 Box Tops.
For more details, please visit or contact Nupur.

CMSW PTO Positions!!
Published: Wed, May 4, 2016, 09:31AM CDT

Middle school is no different than elementary school—except there are more students that need parental involvement! If you have an incoming sixth grader—we are the perfect way to get plugged into the school and get better connected to the staff and administration at CMSW. The current board is made up of working/stay-at-home parents, people serving on several boards, parents with kids at 1, 2, and even all three levels of schools at CISD! Overall, they are individuals who have a heart for making sure all our kids and staff have the best resources and programs available to them. CMSW PTO is still in need of the following positions to be filled. Please contact Sneha Patel (sneharpatel@hotmail.com) for more information about the commitment or to express interest in a nomination. No experience necessary—training will be provided! Find a friend and work the position together! We have several 8thgrade parents who are moving on and are in need of some new passionate people!

This event is come and go and designed to allow incoming sixth grade parents to talk with current parents about life at CMSW. This is an excellent opportunity to tap into the knowledge and experience of soon-to-be West parents. It is also a great way to meet new parents and navigate carpool, Athletics, schedules, and any fears your learners may have expressed.
